Publication Policy

  1. Once an article is submitted for publication in the journal, no author’s name may be removed from the author list, no new author may be added, and the order of authors cannot be changed without the written consent of all authors.
  2. Mebadi International Journal of Philosophy is a non-profit academic periodical in the field of philosophy. It operates with the primary objectives of generating, developing, and disseminating knowledge for the public good, based on scientific data. Editors, reviewers, and authors involved in the publication process of Mebadi International Journal of Philosophy are required to participate in the journal’s activities in accordance with international ethical principles, grounded in universal human rights and followed in scientific research.
  3. All works submitted for publication must be consistent with scientific knowledge and methodologies, respect fundamental human and animal rights, maintain impartiality, and be conducted with integrity. Only philosophy articles that meet these criteria will be considered for evaluation by the editorial board.
  4. Mebadi International Journal of Philosophy is a peer-reviewed electronic journal, published at least twice a year, in June and December. The journal welcomes submissions of translations of scientific and original articles, philosophical commentaries and critiques, as well as book/article reviews that are directly or indirectly related to the field of philosophy.
  5. Book reviews are sent to at least one expert reviewer in the field when necessary, after they have been approved by the editor.
  6. Submitted articles are initially reviewed by the Publication Commission. They are then sent to two referees for content and format evaluation. If the evaluations from the two referees conflict, with one providing a positive review and the other a negative one, the article will be sent to a third reviewer. The identities of the reviewers and authors remain confidential throughout the review process.
  7. To ensure anonymity, authors should not include any personal information in the initial submission. Instead, author details should be provided in a separate Word file.
  8. Mebadi International Journal of Philosophy follows a double-anonymous peer review policy, where neither the referees nor the authors are informed of each other's identity.
  9. Based on the referees' reports, a decision will be made to either publish the article, request revisions from the author, or reject the article. The opinions expressed in the published articles are those of the authors and do not reflect the views of the journal. The responsibility for the content rests entirely with the authors.
  10. All rights to the articles published in the journal are reserved. Articles may not be reproduced in any form without proper citation of the journal’s name and issue number.
  11. In multi-author publications, researchers are encouraged to provide a statement of contribution, support, acknowledgment, and conflict of interest.
  12. Authors may submit original works that have not been published elsewhere to Mebadi International Journal of Philosophy. If any deviation from this rule is detected at any stage of the publication process, the manuscript will be rejected, and the author will be informed. Authors are obligated to strictly adhere to universal ethical standards in their research, particularly regarding data usage, referencing, and citation practices. Failure to properly cite sources or the use of misleading information is considered unethical. All sources used in the manuscript must be accurately referenced within the text and in the bibliography, which is the responsibility of the author.

All manuscripts submitted to the journal are evaluated within the framework of a double-blind peer review system and in accordance with the principle of editorial independence. Editorial decisions are made on the basis of the manuscript’s scientific quality, originality, and contribution to the relevant field.

In line with the universal principles of scholarly publishing, the journal regards the prevention of conflicts of interest at all stages of the editorial process and the safeguarding of the independence of the peer review process as among its fundamental responsibilities.

Within this framework, in cases where members of the journal’s Editorial Board, Publication Board (Editorial Board), or Advisory Board publish an article in any issue of the journal, the appointment of an independent “Issue Editor” for the relevant issue is a mandatory practice.

The appointed Issue Editor is authorized to manage all editorial and peer review processes related to the manuscript independently of the author’s editorial roles. The author concerned is not permitted to take part in any stage of the evaluation or decision-making process.

The main justifications for this practice are as follows:

  1. Prevention of Conflicts of Interest:
To eliminate the possibility that an author holding an editorial position may directly or indirectly influence the evaluation or decision-making processes.
  2. Ensuring the Impartiality of the Peer Review Process:
To ensure that the manuscript is evaluated in a manner that is entirely independent of the author’s editorial position and based solely on objective and scientific criteria.
  3. Ensuring Editorial Transparency:
To maintain the journal’s credibility and scientific reputation in the eyes of readers, authors, and the academic community.
  4. Compliance with National and International Publication Ethics Standards:
To establish an editorial structure in compliance with national and international publication ethics principles, particularly those of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
