About the Journal
The term Mebadi, in its broadest sense, signifies principles. In particular, within the realms of logic, epistemology, and metaphysics, it refers to the 'a priori principles of reason, the underpinnings of knowledge and science, and the causes of being. As such, the term encapsulates the philosophical orientation of our journal.
Thus, Mebadi, by pointing not to a single principle but to the very possibility of principles in its analytical sense, advocates a philosophical pluralism. This approach, on the one hand, asserts the existence—or the potential emergence—of not one singular philosophy but a multiplicity of philosophies; on the other hand, it underscores the necessity of grounding thought in a principle, foundation, or point of departure, and argumentation.
Mebadi is a peer-reviewed academic journal devoted to philosophy. It is published biannually—in June and December—and welcomes scholarly submissions in Turkish and English. The journal aims to cultivate philosophical dialogue across diverse linguistic, cultural, and intellectual contexts.
As an open-access, electronically published journal, Mebadi is committed to the free and global dissemination of original, high-quality philosophical research. It offers a platform for research articles, critical essays, and scholarly translations that engage deeply with classical texts and contemporary philosophical debates.
The journal endeavors to advance philosophical inquiry by facilitating critical engagement among scholars from various philosophical traditions and methodological approaches. In adherence to rigorous academic standards, Mebadi implements a double-anonymous peer review process to uphold the scholarly merit, originality, and academic integrity of all published contributions.
